ALCOS/Brown & Brown and Art Van Furniture Accepts Food Donations
Sterling Heights, Mich. — Sterling Heights-based ALCOS, a subsidiary of Fla.-based Brown & Brown, Inc. (NYSE: BRO) is collecting canned goods to help Gleaners Community Food Bank feed the poor and hungry of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties.
Art Van Furniture will donate the use of a truck to collect the community donations.
When: Wednesday November 12th, 9 am to 3 pm.
Where: ALCOS/Brown & Brown office located at 35735 Mound Road in Sterling Heights. – look for the Art Van Furniture truck next to the bronze liberty bell on Mound Road between 15 and 16 Mile Road.
Why: To help Gleaners Community Food Bank continue to meet the rising demand for emergency food – reported by some agencies as upwards of 30 percent. Gleaners aims to distribute a total of 9 million pounds of food in the last quarter of the year – a 22 percent increase over the same period last year.
