Incentive and bonus programs, the “Write Your Own Raise” program, and employee training through ALCOS University and online software training make ALCOS a Cool Place To Work.
Crain’s Detroit Business and the Grand Rapids Business Journal asked employees from all around Michigan to nominate their employers if they considered them to be good places to work. Crain's was especially interested in companies like ALCOS that are successful in attracting and retaining workers — especially younger workers.
ALCOS along with nearly 300 companies and nonprofits statewide were nominated by employees, the first criteria for the recognition program. To make its way onto the list of semifinalists, a company also had to respond to an online survey conducted by the Southfield-based American Society of Employers. That survey provides objective measures about policies, benefits and “talent management” practices. It was weighted according to company size and the importance of the attribute.
Of those nominated Crain's found 60 companies that stood out including ALCOS as a Cool Place To Work.
