AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Officials from Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) can now be certain they offer their employees the best in benefits and health and welfare programs.

ALCOS (www.alcos.com), one of Michigan’s largest insurance agencies has agreed to serve as PS&E’s consultant and will assist in managing benefits programs and will advise on matters of health and welfare benefits.  Essentially, ALCOS will serve as the intermediary for PS&E and the organization’s health and welfare benefits providers.

“We did a great deal of research and spoke with a number of companies during the selection process,” said PS&E’s Vice President of Human Resources Tom Bennett. “We found that ALCOS offered a great deal of expertise in the areas we wanted to focus on and we were impressed with their customer service-based initiatives.  This is a relationship that we are confident will be beneficial to our employees, for a great number of years.”

In their role with PS&E, ALCOS will be focused on controlling costs, improving the value of the money that PS&E spends on benefits, improving administration and communication of benefits programs for PS&E employees and providing employee assistance for claim issues.  ALCOS will serve as the advocate for PS&E employees in matters concerning benefits and health and welfare programs.

“ALCOS is excited to partner with Palace Sports & Entertainment. We share their desire to serve customers and employees at the highest level,” Richard Monahan, Employee Benefits Advisor, said.  “We look forward to impacting all aspects of the benefits program and to improving the employee experience.”

PS&E is made up of a staff of more than 350 full-time employees and an additional 1,500 part-time staffers.  The organization owns or operates the Detroit Pistons of the NBA, the Detroit Shock of the WNBA, The Palace of Auburn Hills, the DTE Energy Music Theatre and the MeadowBrook Music Festival.  PS&E also owns and operates the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL and the St. Pete Times Forum.

ALCOS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Brown & Brown, the nation’s sixth largest insurance intermediary. ALCOS is an award-winning company offering individually tailored commercial and personal insurance products, employee benefits services, income protection, pension and 401(k) services.
